About Us

Since 1994, The Innovative Farmers of Ohio (“IFOh”) has been promoting sustainable agricultural practices in Ohio, as a non-profit organization serving Ohio farmers.

Our leadership and board of directors are active Ohio farmers and  local food advocates.  We offer services and programs that help producers become more sustainable economically, socially, and environmentally.

Our mission drives our service offerings and guides us in partnering with other organizations dedicated to improving farming and rural life.

Our membership ranges from small-acreage intensive organic growers to large grain and livestock operations committed to achieving sustainable farming methods that make Ohio farming a profession that is rewarding, profitable, and supportive of the land around us.

IFO services are focused on the needs of Ohio farmers who are seeking new markets, new production techniques, and assistance in beginning new farm ventures.  To that end, we offer summer farm tours, technical assistance, mentoring programs, workshops, and opportunities to expand into new farm production.

IFO also dedicates time and energy to new farmers as well as non-traditional farmers such as women and minorities.

Working closely with partners, we seek to advance farming through a combination of innovative thinking and a careful understanding of the past.
